Too busy to blog

The past wee has been a whirlwind but I will start trying to catch up. Another issue I have been dealing with is getting a good wifi connection from my neighbor so I can use the Internet.

Our second day of travel went smoothly and we even took a side trip to Ruidoso, NM enroute to my home. We stopped in the downtown area and shared some steak tacos at a local eatery then went to a few shops before heading out of town. Ruidoso is in the mountains and is very popular for skiing and hiking, fishing, etc. I have heard that a lot of Texans go there. On the way out of town we stopped at the Inn of the Mountain Gods, which is a resort owned by the Mescalero Apache tribe. The resort is a beautiful lodge on a turquoise lake with a golf course, casino and restaurants. We also noticed they had hunting as well.

We arrived at my home around 4:00 and immediately headed to the Comcast office in town to get my DVR box so I could set up cable. After. We unloaded the car we ordered carryout chicken roasted potatoes, Greek salad and baklava from a local Greek restaurant. We spent the rest of the evening getting unpacked and relaxing with some wine.

On Wednesday we stayed at the house all day waiting for my living room furniture to be delivered. It arrived by around 11:00 so after that we spent the afternoon decorating with items that I brought from our other home. My friend is a wonderfully creative person and she staged the whole place by the end of the day. Unfortunately, I have not figured out a way to post pictures from my IPad onto this blog so my blogs will be photo-less for the time being.

Oh, I almost forgot, on Wednesday morning beforee the furniture delivery, we went to the farmer's market in downtown Las Cruces which is held on Wed. And Sat. mornings. The were only about 20 vendors there but it was an enticing preview of the 230 vendors who would be there Saturday. We were able to pick up a few fresh herbs and lettuces.

On Wednesday evening we went to La Posta de Mesilla which is probably the most well known Mexican restaurant in town. Everyone goes there who visits Las Cruces. My friend had chiles re Lenox and I had a combination plante of a chile re Leno and enchilada. And of course we each had a margarita! The restaurant has tropical birds in the waiting area and they are quite entertaining. We planned to return to Mesilla, which is a historical town with a plaza, basilica church, shops, and restaurants and is adjacent to Las Cruces. I never make a trip here without going there several times.

More on that in my next blog. Hasta MaƱana!
